Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
Rainfall has already started to submerge low-lying roads and streets. Water-logging woes haven't been forgotten by the Kolkatans. Looks like this time, the Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) wants to leave no stone unturned to tackle this issue. As a result, an ultimatum has been issued for those who operate 'Khatal' (cow sheds).
Mayor In Council (MIC) Tarak Singh, while addressing the media today, said that the civic body has issued an ultimatum to those running Khatals in Kolkata. "Strict action will be taken against those who throw cow dung in drains", said Singh.
A meeting with Khalat owners is scheduled for July 5th where the new instructions will be given on proper dumping of animal waste.
